Time to Put Focus Back on Woody Allen’s Filmmaking
- Share via
Whoa, low blow, Kenneth Turan, suggesting that Woody Allen misshapes his new film in order to “play love scenes with the most glamorous actresses he can corral” (review of “Everyone Says I Love You,” Dec. 6, Calendar).
Will somebody please tell Turan that open season is over on Woody as a dirty old man? “What’s in it” for Allen? Not the obvious effort to create yet another heartening example of entertaining film art?
Take it back, Ken. Cheap shot.

Does Turan really think Woody Allen concocts stories so he can kiss glamorous actresses? [Turan] obviously has no idea what happens on a movie set . . . if he thinks kissing beautiful people while surrounded by a film crew and intensely hot lights can be the least bit gratifying.
