Andy Kroneberger
SCHOOL: Camarillo
SPORT: Football
YEAR: Senior
SEASON AT A GLANCE: Kroneberger, a college baseball prospect, did not go out for football until the third game of the season despite having played varsity football as a sophomore and junior. Camarillo was 0-2 and Kroneberger couldn’t stand watching. The Scorpions never lost again. Kroneberger played cornerback, returned punts and alternated at wide receiver, making 13 receptions for 215 yards and returning four interceptions for 80 yards.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: The 6-foot, 185-pound Kroneberger made a diving catch in the end zone for Camarillo’s first touchdown against Notre Dame in the Southern Section Division III final. He made a key interception in the third quarter, returning it 37 yards, and he batted down a halfback option pass by Justin Fargas on a fourth-down play in the fourth quarter to enable Camarillo to hang on for a 20-14 victory.
