Mother Teresa Leaves Calcutta Hospital
Mother Teresa was released from a Calcutta hospital three weeks after suffering a heart attack. The 86-year-old Roman Catholic nun held her palms together in the traditional Indian greeting as she walked past hundreds of well-wishers in the hospital lobby. She then stepped into a car waiting to take her to the headquarters of her Missionaries of Charity order, where she is expected to continue to require medical care. Doctors have said she is unlikely to ever regain the strength to travel around the world championing the cause of the poor and raising funds for her work.
