High School Science Team Set to Defend National Title

They captured the crown by knowing many of the intricacies of physics and chemistry last year, and the Venice High School team begins the defense of its National Science Bowl crown at today’s regional competition in downtown Los Angeles.
If the returning champions beat out 26 other Los Angeles-area schools vying for the regional title, the Venice students will head to Washington, D.C., in May to participate in the National Science Bowl.
Returning team members Noah Bray-Ali and captain David Dickinson helped Venice clinch the national crown last year. The public is invited to today’s competition, held 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Department of Water and Power at 111 N. Hope St.
