For Pacifica, It’s Bombs Away in Victory Over Servite

Pacifica made 10 of 19 three-pointers and went on to upset Servite, 85-80, in a Southern Section Division II-A boys’ basketball game Friday at Servite.
Brad Mastros and Gary Wallace each hit four of six shots from beyond the three-point line. Mastros and Jeff Davidson led Pacifica (17-11) with 19 points each. Verdell Leveaux added 18 points, and Wallace finished with 12.
Rafael Zielonka and Steve Shea led Servite (20-7) with 17 points each.
Pacifica meets Tustin in a second-round game on Tuesday.

Brea Olinda 83, Palm Desert 56--Sean Wink hit four three-point baskets to lead fourth-seeded Brea Olinda with 22 points. Chris McMillian added 17 points and 10 assists, Rasuli Webster scored 20 points and Jason Skrifvars grabbed 12 rebounds for Brea Olinda (24-3), which will play the winner of Bonita-Romona on Tuesday.
Lakewood Artesia 73, Buena Park 51--Brian McDonald had 14 points and nine rebounds and Ruben Gasso had 12 points and five assists for Buena Park (14-13), which was outscored, 49-24, in the first half.
Ocean View 47, Newport Harbor 43--The score was tied, 41-41, with a minute to play, but Tony Dow scored six consecutive points to lead Ocean View to the victory. Dow finished with 16 points for the Seahawks (20-6), who play Sonora on Tuesday.
Sonora 89, Garden Grove 49--Sophomore Marqui Worthy scored nine of his game-high 21 points in the first quarter to help Sonora (24-3) to a nine-point lead.
