Coach Returns Team’s Williamsport Prizes

MOORPARK — Banners and trophies collected by Moorpark’s Little League all-stars during last year’s winning season have been returned to league officials and will be on display during opening day ceremonies later this month.
League President Chris Adams said that Hector Garcia, manager of last year’s winning team, had returned the prizes. Garcia, who has taken some of his players from last year to play in a league in Simi Valley, had been holding on to them.
In return, Adams said the league has given Garcia commemorative bats from the team’s trip to Williamsport, Pa.
The team banners will be raised above the playing field at Chaparral Middle School during opening ceremonies planned for April 16.
