Shi Wins Titles in Badminton

ORANGE — Cindy Shi of Orange won the singles and doubles titles at the U.S. National Badminton Championships Sunday at the Orange County Badminton Club.
Shi beat Yeping Zhao Tang of Gaithersburg, Md., 5-11, 12-11, 11-4, in the championship match. Shi survived three match points in the second game.
They then combined to beat Becky Wu of Lomita and Eileen Tang of Chino, 15-1, 15-5, in the doubles final.
Kevin Han of Colorado Springs, Colo., won the men’s singles and doubles titles. He beat Ignatius Rusli of Anaheim Hills, 15-9, 15-4.
Han and teammate Tom Reidy of Colorado Springs beat Rusli and Ben Lee of San Jose, 15-8, 15-1.
