* Re “Board Backs Plan for Forums in Selection of Superintendent,” April 1: I don’t understand why the L.A. school board agreed to open the process to public participation, especially since this “represents an attack on the Latino candidate.” What in the world is this, a democratic process or something? You’d think we all were paying for our schools.
