Woodbridge’s Robitaille Gets 11th Shutout

Christy Robitaille pitched her 11th shutout of the season, a three-hitter in third-ranked Woodbridge’s 3-0 victory over No. 6 Irvine in a Sea View League softball game Friday at Heritage Park.
Robitaille also hit a two-run single in the sixth-inning to break a 0-0 tie, and Lizzy Lemire and Nichole Thompson each had three hits for the Warriors (23-2, 4-0).
In another Sea View League game:
El Toro 4, Santa Margarita 1--Suzanne Guy (14-4) pitched a three-hitter with four strikeouts for fifth-ranked El Toro (18-5-1, 3-1).
In Academy League softball:
St. Margaret’s 10, Capistrano Valley Christian 3--Abbey Arnold (6-2) pitched a four-hitter with 16 strikeouts and two walks for St. Margaret’s (11-4, 4-0).
In the Golden West League:
Ocean View 2, Westminster 1 (10)--Leslie Murillo scored on an error with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning to win the game for Ocean View (11-7, 4-0).
Rosary 10, Santa Ana 0 (5, mercy)--Christy Ledford (11-5) pitched her second no-hitter of the week, striking out three and walking one for Rosary (16-5, 3-1).
In the South Coast League:
Mater Dei 12, San Clemente 0--Kendra Meano went four for five with two RBIs and Ruby Rojas had two hits, five RBIs and three runs scored for fourth-ranked Mater Dei (16-3, 4-0).
In nonleague boys’ swimming:
Villa Park 102, San Marino 68--Kyle Baumgarner finished second in the 200 freestyle with a personal best of 1 minute 49.69 seconds, and won the 100 freestyle (48.62) for 10th-ranked Villa Park (7-2).
In nonleague girls’ swimming:
Walnut 95, Brea Olinda 75--Cassie McHenry won the 200 freestyle (2:07.02), 500 freestyle (5:33.98), and swam the third leg of the winning 200 freestyle relay team for Brea Olinda (7-3).
In the Sunset League:
Huntington Beach 3, Edison 0--Dave McKenzie had 15 kills and Lyle Carlson had 11 for third-ranked Huntington Beach (11-1, 5-1).
Esperanza 3, Los Alamitos 0--Justin Dalton had 35 assists in a victory for top-ranked Esperanza (10-1, 6-0), which won 15-6, 15-8, 15-6. Dan Harrington led the Aztecs with 11 kills.
