The City Council has approved plans to develop a church and related buildings near Rancho Viejo Road.
The project by Resco Development and Gateway Community Church of the Nazarene, approved Tuesday, calls for the construction of a 25,927-square-foot complex, which will include a fellowship hall, sanctuary, classrooms and administration offices, on an 11.6-acre parcel near Rancho Viejo Road and Via Escolar.
Grading and construction of the church and its facilities is expected to start this summer, according to church officials.
