Benefit Chili Cookoff Planned at School

Got a hankering for some five-alarm chili?

Steaming bowls of the fiery stew will be served up at the 21st annual Great Coldwater Canyon Chili Cookoff from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at St. Michael and All Angels’ Parish Day School, 3646 Coldwater Canyon Ave.

Chili-tasting contests, live country music, carnival rides and games, craft exhibitions and homemade baked goods will be part of the daylong festivities to benefit the Episcopal school, said campus development director Maggi Wright Falkenstein.

Vacation packages, celebrity and sports memorabilia, sporting event tickets, restaurant certificates and health and beauty items will be put on the block in a silent auction, Falkenstein said.
