Hazardous Waste Collection Planned

A free household hazardous waste day for residents of Oxnard, Port Hueneme and surrounding unincorporated county neighborhoods will be held Saturday.
Residents looking to dispose of their hazardous waste in an environmentally safe manner can call 385-8084 to schedule an appointment.
More than 400 residents already have signed up.
Residents can get rid of up to 15 gallons or 125 pounds of waste per appointment.
The wastes may include household cleaners, poisons, paints, propane cylinders, batteries, pesticides, gasoline, mercury, aerosol cans and liquid fertilizers.
A special collection for small businesses is scheduled for today. Appointments can be made by calling 654-3849.
