Stripper Faces 19-Year Term in Slaying

A stripper pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree murder in the 1995 shooting death of a music industry executive who was slain at his rented Malibu house.

Suzette Melina McClure, 29, is scheduled to be sentenced June 3. She faces up to 19 years to life in prison and a fine of $10,000 for killing Charlie Minor, whose body was found in his bedroom with multiple gunshot wounds.

Minor, 47, a promotions executive at the music industry magazine Hits, also was a former promotion chief at A&M; Records.

Investigators allege that McClure was a spurned lover who showed up at Minor’s home unannounced, found him with another woman and shot him.

Investigators found McClure’s purse in Minor’s bedroom. She was arrested later at her Santa Monica condominium, where police also recovered the alleged murder weapon, a .25-caliber pistol.

Municipal Judge Elva Soper in October 1995 dismissed a special allegation of lying in wait, which could have made McClure eligible for execution if convicted. Soper said prosecutors failed to prove the allegation.
