Brian Flanagan
Cypress, Sophomore
Baseball
Despite hitting fourth much of the season, Flanagan, from Kennedy High, hasn’t gotten too much attention because of the play of Craig Kuzmic and Greg Jacobs. But it was Flanagan who had the key hit as Cypress beat Los Angeles Harbor, 4-3, Sunday to advance to the state tournament. He lined a three-run double and later scored on a squeeze bunt to help Cypress open a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Flanagan had a team-high seven RBIs in four games of regional play last week.
