Teens Found Guilty in Gang Assault

Five teenage boys face up to eight years in the California Youth Authority after a juvenile court judge Tuesday found them guilty in a gang assault on two Buena High School students in March, the district attorney’s office announced.

The attackers, ages 14 to 17, are scheduled for sentencing June 6 on six counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of conspiracy, officials said.

The attack took place March 25 at Day and Loma Vista roads in Ventura. A 15-year-old Buena High student was stabbed in the back and a 17-year-old student was beaten during a “power walk” by the physical education class.

The class was walking past the Dorothy Boswell School, where the five attackers attended Gateway Ventura Satellite continuation school, when the assault occurred.
