The former principal of Simi Valley High School has become the school district’s assistant superintendent for educational services.
Kathryn S. Scroggin, a former English and French teacher, had served as interim assistant superintendent since last July when Susan Parks was promoted out of the position.
Aside from two years spent as an assistant high school principal in Moorpark, Scroggin has been a Simi Valley schools employee since 1982. Over the years, she has taught high school and accepted administrative positions at Sequoia Junior High, Hillside Junior High and Simi High.
Previously, the Moorpark resident taught at private schools in the San Fernando Valley.
She has bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from Northern Illinois University, CSUN and UCLA, respectively. Her promotion boosts her salary from $84,525 to $88,500 a year.
