SIMI VALLEY — Police are investigating the death Sunday of a motorcyclist who went into cardiac arrest after apparently crashing in the back country of eastern Ventura County, authorities said.
Shortly after 6 p.m., authorities received a call about a disoriented man who was found walking along an access road near Kuehner Drive north of the Ronald Reagan Freeway. The caller said he offered the man a ride and that once inside the car, the man went into cardiac arrest.
The driver called 911, and paramedics arrived and found the man in full cardiac arrest, said Tim Walia, associate supervisor for MedTrans/AMR Ambulance. Paramedics began administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and took the man to Simi Valley Hospital.
Walia said that the man apparently suffered major internal injuries when his motorcycle crashed.
The man, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead about 6:30 p.m., authorities said.
