Vigilantes Take Beating in Chico

The Vigilantes gave up a season-high total of runs in a 15-9 loss to host Chico in Western League baseball game Sunday.
Chico scored four runs in the sixth to take a 7-6 lead, but the Vigilantes came back with two runs in the seventh to take the lead, 8-7.
Chico scored four times in the seventh and four more times in the eighth to put the game away.
Levi Funderburk had a double and three singles and drove in four runs for Chico. Funderburk had a run-scoring single in the seventh to break a 7-7 tie.
Matt Davis hit a home run and had two doubles and two runs batted in for Chico (4-3).
Alan Burke had three doubles, a single and three RBIs. Sean Drinkwater added two hits and two RBIs for the Vigilantes (6-4), which lost two of three games at Chico.
The Vigilantes start a three-game series on Tuesday in Bend, Ore.
