High-Pressure System to Boost Temperatures

The San Fernando Valley will be pleasant and sunny for the first full week of summer, segueing into a warmer pattern by Friday, weather forecasters said.
Morning low clouds and fog will quickly burn off today and Tuesday, said John Sherwin, a meteorologist with WeatherData, a service that provides forecasting information to The Times.
Skies will become clearer and temperatures will climb later in the week as a high-pressure system develops over Southern California, Sherwin said.
“Normally, there is an area of high pressure over the Pacific Ocean,” Sherwin said. “This is a seasonal strengthening of the high pressure that will lead to a warming trend over the southwestern United States.”
High temperatures will rise from the low 80s early in the week to the low 90s by the end of the week, Sherwin said. Low temperatures will be in the mid-50s to mid-60s, said Dedric Walker, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard.
High temperatures today will be 80 in Woodland Hills and 76 in Burbank.
