Community Policing Program Earns National Recognition

Norwalk’s community policing efforts have won first place in the National League of Cities’ Community Policing in Action for cities between 75,000 and 150,000.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has ranked Norwalk as one of the nation’s 20 safest cities with populations of more than 100,000 for the past three years.
The ranking is the result of a commitment to community policing by the Sheriff’s Department and the city’s public safety department, city spokesman Anthony Ayala said.
