HUNTINGTON BEACH — A flower shop manager was robbed at gunpoint of the day’s receipts behind the store Tuesday, police said.
The manager of Conroy’s Flowers on Beach Boulevard was walking to her car in the rear parking lot about 1:45 p.m. when a man scavenging in the trash bin beside her car told her, “Come over here. I don’t want to have to shoot you,” Police Sgt. Bill Martin said.
He pulled out a handgun and took her bank deposit bag, Martin said. He ordered her to lie on the ground and count to 100, then fled in a small medium-brown pickup truck driven by another man, Martin said. The truck, which had a dent on the left side between the cab and rear wheel, was last seen heading south on Beach Boulevard, Martin said.
The gunman was described only as black, with short hair and wearing a gray sweatshirt.
