Hang Glider Crash in Forest Hurts Pilot

A hang glider pilot had to be airlifted out of the mountains Sunday after he suffered minor injuries in a crash near Silverado Peak in the Cleveland National Forest.
A spokesman for the Orange County Fire Authority said that Fred Weinmn, 38, suffered minor cuts and bruises after his hang glider crashed about 4:45 p.m.
Notified by a witness with a cellular phone, spokesman Scott Brown said, a team of firefighters and sheriff’s deputies hiked in to render aid. Weinmn was removed by helicopter.
He was taken to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Anaheim where he was reported in stable condition.
