Pedestrian Safety

* Thank you for your editorial, “Some Teeth for Crosswalk Laws” (July 15). I think it is past time for law enforcement to emphasize crosswalk and intersection safety.
My office is in Old Town Pasadena. I would not live a week if I stepped off the curb when the “walk” sign comes on. Cars race through on late yellow all the time, barely into the intersection before the opposing green light and walk light come on. You only have to stand for about five minutes at most intersections to see some driver run the light completely.
I wish The Times would emphasize this problem. You would promote general civility and greatly increase pedestrian safety.
