City’s Finance Dept. Wins National Kudos

The city’s Finance Department, headed by Director Brian Mayhew, has won a national award for its 1996-97 budget from the Government Finance Officers Assn.
The department was cited by the awards program, founded in 1984, for meeting stringent requirements including a financial plan and operations guide.
The finance officers association is a nonprofit group serving 12,650 finance departments nationally.
