Boskie’s Status as Starter in Doubt
Baltimore Manager Davey Johnson said the Orioles plan to recall a pitcher from the minor leagues Monday, which could mean Shawn Boskie will not start Tuesday as scheduled.
Johnson, however, would not say that Boskie, who has been inconsistent as a starter, will be replaced in the rotation.
Boskie pitched three perfect innings of relief in Friday’s 5-2 loss to the Minnesota Twins. The Orioles have been considering bringing up Rick Krivda, Esteban Yan or Nerio Rodriguez from triple-A Rochester as potential replacements for Boskie in the starting rotation.
