Official to Give Update on Troubled Schools

The state administrator of the troubled Compton schools will give a progress report at his third set of community forums tonight and Thursday.
“This is an opportunity to have a two-way dialogue about the critical issues facing our schools,” said Randolph Ward. “The focus will be on how we can work together to raise student achievement, improve school facilities and increase community partnerships.”
Simultaneous Spanish translation will be available and free day care will provided at the meetings.
Tonight’s meeting is scheduled at 6 at Foster Elementary School, 1620 N. Pannes St. Thursday’s meeting is at 9 p.m. at Vanguard Learning Center, 13305 S. San Pedro St.
