Fire Department to Hold Flood Preparation Seminar

In an effort to prepare residents for the onslaught of storms anticipated this winter, the Torrance Fire Department has scheduled a flood preparation seminar today.
The two-hour workshop will include a presentation from officials at the California Office of Emergency Services on how the state office responded to flooding in Northern California last year. A firefighter, paramedic and weather specialist with the Orange County Fire Authority will discuss possible El Nino effects.
The free seminar is scheduled for 10 a.m. at Torrance City Hall at 3031 Torrance Blvd.
