StarBase Net Loss

IRVINE — StarBase Corp. reported a second-quarter net loss of $1.8 million, or 13 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $1.4 million, or 12 cents a share, for the corresponding quarter last year. The 1997 quarter included a $371,000 charge for the convertible debentures issued during the quarter. Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 rose to $366,000 from $172,000.
For the first half, the computer products company reported a net loss of $3.1 million, or 24 cents a share, compared with a year-earlier net loss of $2.6 million, or 26 cents a share. Revenue increased 85% to $704,000 from $381,000.
