Opponent--Portland Power.
Time--7:30.
Site--The Pyramid, Long Beach State.
Records--Portland 10-3, Long Beach 7-5.
Updates--For the first time, Long Beach’s Yolanda Griffith, the ABL’s leading rebounder at 12.7 a game, will face last season’s leader, Natalie Williams, averaging 9.8 this season. The Power was the ABL’s worst team last season at 14-26, but Coach Linn Dunn, who took over in mid-season, drafted perhaps the nation’s best defensive collegian, 6-foot-1 DeLisha Milton of Florida. She is assigned to opponents’ leading scorers and more often than not has held them below their averages. Portland beat Colorado, 72-70, Sunday on Elaine Powell’s basket with 5.1 seconds left, giving the Power three victories in a row and four in six games.
