Sabonis Leads Way for Trail Blazers

Arvydas Sabonis scored 22 of his 24 points in an overpowering first-half performance against Shawn Bradley as the Portland Trail Blazers routed the Dallas Mavericks, 120-75, Monday night at Portland.
It was the Mavericks’ sixth consecutive loss.
Sabonis, who also had 12 rebounds, was 10 for 10 from the field in the first half. He played only 24 minutes and missed only one of 12 shots.

Isiah Thomas could leave the Toronto Raptors as early as this week to work for NBC television, the Toronto Star reported Tuesday. Thomas, the general manager and part-owner of the Raptors, is weighing a lucrative offer from the NBC that includes on-air professional basketball analysis and his own show on CNBC, the network’s cable station, the Star reported. The offer carries a $2 million annual salary, one source told the Star.
