Marina (19-2), the Southern Section Division I-A champion, travels to Newport Harbor High Saturday to meet the top-seeded Sailors (21-2), the section’s Division I-AA champions, for a quarterfinal match in the state Division I playoffs.
Marina defeated Clovis Buchanan, 15-7, 11-15, 15-9, 15-5, and Newport Harbor swept past San Diego Mt. Carmel, 15-4, 15-8, 15-3, Tuesday in first-round play.
In Saturday’s Division II quarterfinals, Santa Margarita (18-3), the section Division II-AA champions, will host Lakewood St. Joseph, section Division II-A runner-up.
The Eagles defeated La Mesa Helix, 15-10, 15-5, 15-6, Tuesday, and St. Joseph beat Santee West Hills, 13-15, 15-9, 11-15, 15-11, 17-15.
Ocean View (18-1), the section Division III-A champion, will host Oakhurst Yosemite, in a Division III quarterfinal Saturday.
Ocean View bounced Exeter, 15-2, 15-2, 15-3, Tuesday, and Yosemite beat La Habra, 10-15, 15-9, 15-6, 12-15, 15-8.
Saturday’s matches begin at 7 p.m.
