Ingram Agrees to Buy

SANTA ANA — Ingram Micro Inc. said Wednesday it has agreed to acquire Computacion Tecnica S.A., a Chilean-based computer products distributor, and its affiliated companies, from Empresas Quintec S.A. Terms weren’t disclosed.

Ingram, the world’s largest wholesale distributor of technology products and services, said the acquisition is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter this year.

Ingram said current management of the business units that are being acquired will remain in place. Companies included in the transaction are Systems & Solutions Informatica Ltd., of Sao Paulo, Brazil; Computek Enterprises U.S.A. Inc., of Miami, and Computacion Tecnica Peruana S.A., of Lima, Peru.

Empresas Quintec S.A., of Santiago, Chile, is a holding company.
