In the Arrowhead League:

Temecula Linfield Christian 62, Southern California Christian 0--SCC, playing without four starters, was limited to 43 yards total offense and backup quarterback Drew St. Clair had three of his four interceptions returned for touchdowns in a loss to the Lions at Linfield Christian High.

The four players--running backs James Brantley and Brian Cochrane and linemen Marco Cervantes and Jon Raymond--missed the game because of injuries, leaving the Flames with only 13 players.

SCC (1-6, 0-2) rushed for minus-31 yards.

St. Clair, a freshman making his first varsity start, struggled. He was six of 13 for 74 yards, but three of his passes were intercepted in the first quarter. Linfield’s fourth interception, which it returned for a touchdown, came in the second quarter.

Linfield (5-1-1, 2-0), coached by former SCC Coach Bert Esposito, substituted frequently after building a 33-0 lead in the opening quarter.

A running game clock was used in the second half.

SCC, which has scored only 20 points in seven games, had a chance to avoid a shutout on its final drive.

St. Clair connected with Josh Farrar on passes of 10 and 19 yards to put the Flames at the Lion 31. St. Clair then threw a pass to Sang Lee, who was stopped just short of the goal line with nine seconds left. The Flames called time out and sent in 6-foot-5, 275-pound Jason Johns for one shot at the end zone. A wall of Lion defenders stopped him.
