Suit Against L.A.

Re “Judge Sets Aside Error in Suit Over Robber’s Death,” Oct. 21:
Let me see if I understand this:
Bank robber sprays city with machine-gun fire; robber shot by police; robber dies shortly thereafter; robber’s children sue city claiming inadequate medical care.
Are we nuts or what? Is there some law that says bank robbers get first priority for first aid? When are we as a society going to stop even entertaining these frivolous lawsuits? There needs to be a law that says people who commit crimes waive their legal rights.
I hope the victims of this robber sue his children for everything they might recover and more. I hope the city of L.A. sues for the expenses incurred in apprehending these two. I hope our politicians put an end to this nonsense and institute a new rule, “You rob a bank, you shoot a gun, you lose your rights.” I hope somebody sanctions attorneys who see this as just another way to flout society and make a buck.
