NATO Force Blocks U.S. Arms Shipment

The NATO-led peace force said it had blocked the delivery of a U.S. arms shipment destined for Bosnia’s Muslim-Croat Federation army until authorities meet peacetime arms control limits. A NATO spokesman said the federation had exceeded arms control limits on heavy weapons and would not be allowed to receive the shipment of 126 howitzers until it complied with those limits. The weapons were unloaded from a U.S. ship at an Adriatic port in neighboring Croatia.
