Spotlight: Amnesty for Home Business Owners Ends Today
- Share via
The amnesty period for home-based business owners in Los Angeles to obtain a city permit and pay business taxes without a penalty ends today. The tax is prorated by profession, but in all cases it is less than 1% of gross receipts. But there are minimums ranging from $75 to $145 a year. There are about 20,000 home-based businesses in L.A., and less than 25% have applied for permits, the City Clerk’s office said. The permit application and $25 fee can be delivered or mailed as long as it is postmarked Sept. 5.
