Matadors Downed by Gauchos, 1-0, in Women’s Soccer

The Cal State Northridge women’s soccer team lost, 1-0, to UC Santa Barbara in a nonconference match Thursday at Goleta.
It was the ninth consecutive loss for the Matadors (0-3), dating to last season. They have been outscored, 7-2, this season.
The Gauchos’ Ryanne Banks scored the only goal, booting in a pass from Darcie Fraunfelter in the 67th minute.
Northridge goalie Kari Attebery had eight saves, while the Gauchos’ Ilsa Bertolini stopped five for her first shutout.
Santa Barbara (1-2) gave first-year coach Kris Bassler her first victory.
