OUTLOOK
Patefield arrives from Sierra Madre Maranatha to coach a team he hopes will combine youth with outstanding senior leadership. Capistrano Valley Christian will be strong on the offensive and defensive lines and Patefield hopes this strength will bring other aspects of the team along as well. Patefield says Roth is “strong as an ox” and will be a player to watch in the future. Thompson was an all-Southern Section pick last season. The team is young at the skill positions and depth is always a problem at a small school such as Capistrano Valley Christian. However, the Eagles will field full varsity and junior varsity teams for the first time in several years.
