Man Dies After Being Hit on Head in Fight

A 21-year-old Ventura man died after being hit on the head during a fight Friday night, authorities said.
The man, whose name was not released, was among several people involved in the fight, which took place in the 100 block of St. Thomas Drive in Meiners Oaks.
Ventura County sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene of the disturbance at 10 p.m. and found that the man had been struck on the head with some sort of object and was severely injured, said Sheriff’s Det. Ralph Zermeno.
The man was taken to Ojai Valley Community Hospital and later transferred to Ventura County Medical Center, where he died on Saturday.
No suspects were in custody Sunday, Zermeno said.
