Airline Settles Lawsuits From Crash

American Airlines and seven other companies agreed to pay $110 million to settle lawsuits filed by relatives of some of the 68 people killed when an American Eagle plane plunged into an Indiana field. The agreement settled 26 lawsuits covering the deaths of 27 passengers and crew members aboard flight 4184. The ATR-72 turboprop, flying from Indianapolis to Chicago, was flying in freezing rain on Oct. 31, 1994, when it suddenly plunged to the ground near Roselawn, Ind.
