A congressional committee has allocated $2 million for street repairs and construction in the city, part of a grant for improvements throughout Orange County.
The funding will be used to reconstruct a Garden Grove Freeway overpass at Harbor Boulevard and broaden access ramps, Mayor Bruce Broadwater said.
City officials said the freeway upgrade is a step forward in the city’s revitalization of Harbor Boulevard, which includes several hotel and restaurant projects as well as a proposed major shopping and entertainment complex.
