The 24th Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach may be over, but the bleachers, fences, pedestrian walkovers and concrete barriers erected for the race are still around.
Race organizers said Tuesday it would be at least two more weeks before the various gear is packed up and stored and downtown Long Beach returns to normal.
“There is still quite a bit to knock down,” said Kevin O’Brien, spokesman for the Grand Prix Assn. of Long Beach.
Streets blocked off for the race are open to traffic again. However, there are a few detours to accommodate machinery dismantling the temporary structures still around.
