Lancaster Tied After 11

Lancaster went into the 12th inning Wednesday tied 3-3 with visiting High Desert in a California League game. The JetHawks, who play tonight at Rancho Cucamonga at 7:15 p.m., trailed 3-1 after five innings.
AROUND THE LEAGUES
The lineup of the San Diego Padres’ Southern League affiliate in Mobile, Ala., considered one of the most powerful in double-A, includes Gary Matthews Jr. (Granada Hills High, Mission College) and Mike Mitchell (Rio Mesa, UCLA). Matthews, who hit two home runs in major league spring training, will play left or right field. Mitchell, who batted .350 with 17 homers and 106 runs batted in at Class-A Rancho Cucamonga last season, will play first base. . . . Other double-A power hitters include Nate Dishington (Hoover) and Mike Glendenning (Crespi, Pierce College) of the Texas League. Dishington was promoted to the St. Louis Cardinals’ Arkansas affiliate after hitting 28 home runs and driving in 106 runs in Class-A. Glendenning is in the San Francisco Giants’ organization and will play in Shreveport, La., after hitting 33 homers and driving in 100 runs in the California League.
