An eight-year Simi Valley school administrator has been named as the district’s new assistant superintendent for business services.
Lowell Schultze will oversee the Simi Valley Unified School District’s $150-million budget.
He replaces Dave Kanthak, who moved with his wife to Riverside County a few months ago.
Schultze was hired by the school district in 1990 as the director of information services to implement technology. And in 1994, he took on an additional responsibility for the district’s earthquake recovery project, securing federal funds as a result of the damages.
Schultze has served as interim superintendent for business services twice before: for a year in 1995 and again since February.
He has been a resident of Simi Valley since 1971.
He has a son who graduated from Simi Valley High School and a daughter who attends Royal High School.
