* “Melody Jones: A Striptease in Two Acts”--Dan Gerrity and Stephanie Blake, above, are in the dark comedy about the striptease business playing weekends at Theatre/Theater through May 2.
* “Room Service”--The classic 1937 farce about a flat-broke theater company in a hotel, waiting desperately for a visit from a potential backer, opens Friday at Actors Alley at the El Portal.
* “Candida”--Orson Bean and Alley Mills head the cast in George Bernard Shaw’s comedy romp opening Saturday at Pacific Resident Theatre. Regular schedule will be Thursdays to Sundays.
