Kunio Koga
Saddleback, Sophomore
Tennis
Koga comes to Saddleback from Kobe, Japan, and the Saddlebrook Tennis Academy in Florida. He helped make his travels worth it last week by winning the Orange Empire Conference singles title. He beat teammate Dan Roditi in the final, 6-4, 6-1. Kobe had to rally after trailing in the first set, 2-4.
Baseball
Reggie Nelson
* Santa Ana, freshman. He was eight for 10 and scored six runs as the Dons won two of three.
Camella Jaeger
Orange Coast, Sophomore
Tennis
Jaeger, from Estancia High, was seeded fourth in the Orange Empire Conference tournament but won it. No one was more surprised than teammate Martha Garcia, whom Jaeger beat in the final, 6-2, 6-3. Garcia played at No. 1 and Jaeger at No. 2 this season. She improved to 21-2 this season.
Softball
Tara Kroener
* Saddleback, freshman. She pitched two shutouts, including a no-hitter, to improve to 20-5.
