OCC Women Ready for State Meet

The Orange Coast women’s swimming team regained the role of favorite Saturday by winning the Orange Empire Conference meet.
Riverside had halted the Pirates’ dual-meet winning streak at 123 this season, but Orange Coast beat the Tigers this time, 691-680 1/2.
Orange Coast and Riverside are among the favorites at the state meet, which starts Thursday at Ventura College. Orange Coast is the defending state champion and has won 13 of the last 15 state titles.
Chintya Ganda led the Pirates by winning the 50-yard butterfly, the 50 backstroke and the 100 backstroke. She was on two winning relay teams.
