Authorities on Tuesday identified a man who was shot to death during an argument as 31-year-old Richard Hernandez of Oxnard.
Police said Hernandez was shot about 7 p.m. Monday in a parking lot on Saviers Road near Samuel Avenue in south Oxnard. He had been in the neighborhood for an hour before getting into an argument with two people, witnesses told police. Gunfire erupted, and Hernandez died of a single gunshot wound in the chest, authorities said.
Hernandez was the father of a 2-year-old girl and had several relatives in the Oxnard area, the Ventura County coroner’s office reported.
Police said they were still tracking leads and had made no arrests Tuesday. They provided no further details.
