Restaurant Kitchen Fire Chases Diners

A kitchen fire at a Chart House restaurant forced an evacuation and caused $500 in damage, county officials said.
The fire, which began at 9:24 p.m. Tuesday, apparently was caused by a stove that had been in prolonged contact with sections of wood, Capt. Scott Brown said.
Diners were evacuated from the restaurant in the 34000 block of Street of the Green Lantern, and no one was injured. The fire was extinguished in 36 minutes.
