And Now You See Two

Forget Dolly the sheep, little boys and girls are already being cloned at My Twinn. The Colorado-based catalog business sells dolls that are customized to imitate real-life children.
Customers select the face shape, skin tone, eyes and hair color. Then, artisans use the profile and a color photo to cut and style the doll’s hair, paint the eyebrows, fit the eyelashes, and add birthmarks or freckles. Children’s outfits to match the doll’s clothes may also be purchased.
Sure, it’s a cute idea, but there’s something spooky about opening a catalog and seeing two dozen eyeballs and hair samples to choose from. Could this be a harbinger of things to come?
My Twinn dolls, $119.95 to $159.95. For information, call (800) 469-8946 or log on to https://www.mytwinn.com.
